The 2001 NS Selects Coaching staff are currently recruiting new players! 

We currently have openings for Forwards and Defense, born in 2001, and are actively seeking players who have the ability to play at a National level.  If you are interested in becoming a NS Selects and have the desire to compete at the highest levels please contact:

Andre and Anthony have coached the 2001 Selects for the past two seasons. The 2001 Selects have competed in a total of eight tournaments capturing: Two Gold Medals, Three Silver, and One Bronze! 

This past spring, the 2001 NS Selects competed in 5 tournaments.  Most recently, we competed against teams from Ontario and Quebec in Montreal at the Meltdown AAA series. It is our objective to bring teams from across Canada next year to our home tournament.  This will be largest tournament ever hosted at the 2001 age level. It is our goal to give players the best opportunities to compete, and play against teams from across Canada this year. If you are interested in competing at this level please contact us!

What do the 2001 NS Selects have to Offer?

The 2001 NS Selects are committed to providing a fun enjoyable environment where players can bond and learn the meaning of teamwork.  This past year the players and parents worked extremely hard and raised almost $10,000 to help fund their Montreal trip.  During all away tournaments the team is constantly kept together following a detailed itinerary such as: Family and team meals, family and player meetings, and family and player outings.  Players and parents learn to have a sense of pride being apart of this special group.

Brad Marchand Visits the Selects!

During the Prospect Cup Brad Marchand of the Boston Bruin’s came and gave the 2001 Selects a pep talk prior to their Big Game against NB Express. The Selects were down 4-0 by the middle of the second period and battled back defeating the Express 5-4 with only a minute left in the game.

2001 NS Select mission statement:

The objective of our program is to provide a highly competitive and supportive environment where players born in 2001 can maximize their development and individual athletic skills to a National level.

The successful 2001 NS Select must possess the following Characteristics:

1)     Strength and a strong work ethic in order to realize the full benefits of the program. 

2)     Maturity, self respect and respect for others including coaches, teammates, and officials.

3)     An aptitude for learning, listening skills and the ability to follow directions.

4)     A passion for hockey, and a desire to improve as an individual and as a team. 

The player development objectives are achieved through highly intensive practices and off ice player training under the direction and supervision of the 2001 NS Select Coaches.
